Public Notice – 22nd March 2025

Public Notice from the World Muay Thai Federation (WMF)

The World Muay Thai Federation (WMF) upholds the highest standards of integrity, sportsmanship, and discipline in all its events. We are committed to ensuring that all athletes, teams, and officials adhere to the values and principles that define our sport.

WMF has formally requested Mr. Hemanth Kumar, the leader of the Indian Muay Thai team, to submit a detailed report and an official letter explaining the recent misconduct involving Indian athletes Vignesh Sundar Krishnan & Vidith Manjunath at the 20th World Muay Thai Championship. This includes a clear account of why only one medal, belonging to athlete Vidith Manjunath, has been returned, while another, from athlete Vignesh, remains unaccounted for.

Vidith Manjunath was found in violation of championship regulations and was required to return his medal as a result. Meanwhile, Vignesh has yet to comply with WMF directives regarding his medal, which remains unresolved. Such actions go against the ethical standards expected at WMF-sanctioned events.

WMF takes such matters very seriously and will not tolerate any behavior that undermines the integrity of the championship. This notice serves to inform all federations, teams, and athletes that strict measures will be enforced to uphold the principles of fair play and respect within the global Muay Thai community.

We appreciate the cooperation of all national federations in maintaining the highest level of professionalism in our sport. Further actions, if necessary, will be taken following the review of the submitted report.
